How to tell if it’s really ASB
ASB says it will never:
- ask you to read out a code sent to your phone, such as a Netcode
- ask you to type a web address into your browser unless it is asb.co.nz
- ask for your full card number, and never for the CVV on the back
- ask you to download software so someone can reach your device remotely
- ask for your passwords, PINs or verification codes
- ask you to move money to keep it safe, buy gift cards, or open a cryptocurrency account
- send you a text message containing a link
ASB’s Caller Check lets you confirm inside the ASB app that a call really is from ASB.
