What the site provides
Who Called Me is a free reverse phone lookup for New Zealand numbers. It combines public numbering register details, business listings, scam alerts and reports from people who received calls. It is general information only. It is not legal, financial or security advice, and it cannot tell you for certain who is calling: caller ID can be faked.
Not affiliated with the organisations named
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any bank, government agency, phone company or other organisation named on this site. Names and trade marks belong to their owners and are used only to identify them. Scam alerts describe scammers impersonating an organisation; they are not a suggestion that the organisation has done anything wrong.
Scam alerts and business listings
- Scam alerts are our own summaries of warnings organisations publish on their websites. Scams change quickly, so always check the organisation's own site, which we link to.
- Business listings come from third-party places data and show the business a number is published for. A listing can be out of date, and a listed number can still be spoofed by someone else.
- Verified and registered labels mean a number belongs to that organisation. They do not mean a call showing that number is genuine.
Posting reports and votes
When you post a report you agree that it:
- describes your own genuine experience of a call or message;
- does not include anyone's personal information, such as full names, addresses, email addresses or other phone numbers;
- is not defamatory, abusive, threatening, misleading or otherwise unlawful;
- does not contain advertising, links or promotional material.
Quick votes must reflect your own experience, one per number. Don't try to manipulate reports, votes or verdicts.
You remain responsible for what you post, and you give us a free, non-exclusive, ongoing licence to publish, edit (for example to remove personal information) and display it. We may decline, edit or remove any report and block anyone who misuses the site. Seehow we moderate.
Prohibited use
You must not:
- scrape, copy or harvest site content in bulk, or query the site with automated tools;
- interfere with the site, its security or anti-spam checks, or try to get around them;
- use the site to harass, stalk or identify private individuals;
- use the site for any unlawful purpose.
Our content
The site's design, text and compilations belong to us, except reports (which belong to their authors, licensed to us as above) and third-party data such as the numbering register and Overture Maps places data, which remain under their own licences.
Links to other sites
We link to official websites, such as organisations' own pages and Netsafe. We are not responsible for their content or availability.
Liability
We work to keep the site accurate, but we cannot verify every report or guarantee that information is complete, current or free of errors. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss arising from use of or reliance on the site. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under thethe Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot lawfully be excluded.
