How to tell if it’s really Kiwibank
Kiwibank says it will never ask you to:
- say a password or one-time code out loud
- repeat back a one-time code to stop a payment going through
- download software or an app onto your phone or computer
- move your money to a safe account to protect it
- buy gift cards to protect your money
Kiwibank will not ask for your passwords, KeepSafe answers, PIN, one-time PIN or card details over the phone. If a caller says they are from Kiwibank, ask for their name, hang up, and call 0800 113 355 yourself.
