How to tell if it’s really NZ Post
NZ Post says it will never:
- ask for personal information by email or text, including usernames, passwords, card details or account information
- send you an email from a domain other than nzpost.co.nz
- send you a text message from a phone number outside New Zealand
- use a messaging app like WhatsApp to contact customers
Its emails always end in @nzpost.co.nz, and its links always go to nzpost.co.nz or its short link nzp.st. A delivery message sent from an overseas number is a scam.

Forward the message to cyber.security@nzpost.co.nz and delete it. The team handles suspicious messages only, not parcel tracking.
