How to tell if it’s really Westpac
Westpac says nobody from the bank will ever:
- ask for your digital banking password or PIN
- email or text you a direct link to log in or hand over personal information
- ask you to give remote access to your computer or phone, or to install software like AnyDesk or TeamViewer
- send you an unsolicited message on social media or an app like WhatsApp
- ask you to move money to another account to keep it safe, or to help catch criminals
- come to your home, or send a courier, to collect cards or cash
- ask you to withdraw cash to keep it safe
